CA Metocean has extensive experience performing numerical modelling studies to support the engineering design of wind farms, oil platforms, pipelines, tidal turbines, pontoons and other marine and coastal structures all over the world.
Global and regional hindcasts are usually of relatively coarse resolution and based on general bathymetric information. Therefore, shallow water processes, which have an important effect on the coastal wave and flow climates, are not fully resolved and the use of detailed numerical modelling becomes essential to produce an accurate estimation of the local Metocean conditions.
CA Metocean uses different numerical models, such as SWAN, TELEMAC-MASCARET, and DHI Mike 21 suite for the simulation of waves, water levels and flows in both cyclonic and non-cyclonic conditions.
